Welcome back to the Tigers Football Insider, where we bring you the latest news and analysis from The Daily Memphian’s football reporters each week.

Defensive back La’Andre Thomas hasn’t been listed on the Tigers’ 2020 roster for sometime.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, Thomas confirmed the rumors of him opting out of the season with a statement on his Twitter page.

“I DID NOT play Sports this season I chose to opt out this season for personal reasons!!” Thomas said.

Thomas said he’ll be back playing football in the spring and will be full go for 2021.

He started all 14 games last season in the secondary for the Tigers. Thomas was fourth on the team in tackles and had a knack for finding the ball, like his pick six against Louisiana-Monroe.

Memphis has certainly missed his ability especially with Jacobi Francis and TJ Carter missing action at different points this season.
