Congratulations Milwaukee, you are deserving champions. 

Here in Memphis, we can appreciate anyone who knows what good chicken wings taste like. And Giannis Antetokounmpo clearly knows what good chicken wings taste like.

In March, the Finals MVP was chomping down on some chicken from The Wing Guru following a win over the Grizzlies. 

“They are lemon pepper wings man,” Antetokounmpo told a reporter. “Come on, this is Memphis!”

Four months later, he was taking home his first NBA championship. 

Coincidence? Maybe not. 

In all seriousness, the Bucks’ championship can be a blueprint for the future for small-market teams like Memphis and others.

It takes a superstar like Giannis -- the Grizzlies have one in Morant -- an unexpected sidekick like Kris Middleton (Dillon Brooks, perhaps?) and a little bit of injury luck. 

It’s a lot to ask. It’s an uphill fight. 

But some killer chicken wings might be a great place to start.
