Welcome back to The To-Do List, where Daily Memphian staffers highlight can’t-miss events and fun activities heading into the weekend. 

‘Tis the season for holiday merriment. Here are some of your upcoming options.

Starry Nights at Shelby Farms Park, starting Friday

The annual holiday-themed light show at Shelby Farms is mostly a drive-thru event, but will offer a couple of walk or bike nights, the first of which is this Monday, November 29. The event, which runs through January 1, opens Friday. Admission ranges from $15.95 to $35 per car, depending on the night and method of payment. There are also hayride and horse-drawn carriage options. See here for more info. — Chris Herrington

Holiday Wonders at Memphis Botanic Garden, starting Friday

The “Holiday Wonders” exhibit at Memphis Botanic Gardens runs selected nights through December 23rd, with portions of the gardens decorated for the season and with concessions including s’mores kits and hot cocoa and cider. Friday is opening night, with a visit from Santa. Advanced tickets are $8 for members and $10 for non-members, or $12 at the gate. Free for kids under 2. See here for more info. — Herrington

Germantown Tree Lighting

Germantown will light up its holiday tree in Municipal Park on Friday. A community choir will start singing festive tunes around 5 p.m. followed by the tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. Afterwards those on Santa Claus’ nice list may visit him underneath the park pavilion. 1910 South Germantown Road. Music at 5 p.m. Lighting at 5:30. Event is free. — Abigail Warren

Christmas in Collierville Saturdays, starting Saturday

This Saturday is not just Small Business Saturday. It’s the first Christmas in Collierville Saturday with a host of offerings for families on Town Square. Each Saturday through Dec. 18, Santa will be available for visits under the gazebo and horse-drawn carriage rides are available. Holiday photo stops are also part of the weekend’s free festivities. 96 N. Center Street. 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Free. — Warren

Downtown Memphis Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, Saturday

The annual Downtown tree lighting, at the corner of Peabody Place and South Main Street, will include free photos with Santa, hot chocolate and Dinstuhl’s candy for the first 200 kids. There will also be an ornament sale benefiting St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The event runs 4-7 p.m., with the tree lighting at approximately 4:50 p.m. See here for more info. — Herrington

Smith & Myers at Graceland Live, Tuesday

As the lead guitarist of the Florida-based Shinedown, Memphian Zach Myers has been the musical backbone of one of the most successful rock bands of the past couple of decades. Alongside Shinedown lead singer Brent Smith in the side project Smith & Myers, the duo has pursued a more stripped-down sound, mixing originals with covers of artists as varied as Billy Idol, R.E.M. and Billie Eilish. The duo takes to the Soundstage at Graceland Live this week with another Memphian in tow, singer JR Moore. Doors open at 7 p.m. Showtime is 8 p.m.$37.50 in advance and $42.50 day of show.
