When the Grizzlies needed him the most, Tyus Jones delivered in spectacular fashion.
So as Jones and teammate Ja Morant walked into the media room on Thursday night for the latest point guard club meeting – fresh off a 26-point comeback win – Morant quickly turned into a hype man.
“This is his hood,” Morant said.
“T Jones is him!” Tyus’ brother, Tre Jones, a player for the San Antonio Spurs, tweeted during the fourth quarter.
And then Tre Jones listened to the booing.
“Hometown booing him,” Tre Jones tweeted. “They sick.”
Yes, they were. But Tyus Jones was still all smiles.
