The Grizzlies are giving up 13.4 3-pointers per game, which is more than all but four teams. In their last three games, they are surrendering 15.7 shots from deep — only Phoenix and San Antonio have given up more.
But those searching for optimism can find it rather easily. It’s hidden in the splits. The discrepancy between opponents’ shooting on the road and inside FedExForum is outrageous.
At home, the Grizzlies are holding opponents to 29.7% 3-point shooting (best in the league) and they are allowing 9.3 makes per games (second-best in the league).
On the road, the Grizzlies have one of the very worst 3-point defenses. Opponents are making 16.1 3-pointers per game on 41.3% shooting, which is by far the most in the league.
So where is the truth here? Probably somewhere in the middle.
