Memphis Grizzlies wing Jaylen Wells wasn’t thinking about the NBA’s rookie of the month award as the calendar turned to December. 

In fact, there was only one reason he realized that the honor exists. 

“I didn’t know anything about it,” Wells said Thursday morning at Grizzlies shootaround. “I had only ever gotten it on 2K (the video game), when I was playing as my player. That was the only thing I knew about rookie of the month.”
