‘The Films of Stan Brakhage’ at Crosstown Theater, Thursday:

Stan Brakhage was one of the biggest names in the small world of 20th-century experimental film, where he deployed a range of formal techniques — painting and scratching on the film itself, multiple exposures, collages and more — for various expressionistic, plot- and mostly dialogue-free works of moving visual art. Some of those works will be screened here with live musical accompaniment from the Memphis band Cloudland Canyon, which will be joined by members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. 7 p.m. $5. 1350 Concourse Ave. See here for more info. — Chris Herrington

What’s plural for Elvis? Elvises? Elvi? Whatever the answer, multiple past Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist winners are returning to Graceland this weekend for concerts, conversations, photo ops, and more. On Friday, there’s a field trip to Elvis Presley’s birthplace in Tupelo, a barbecue dinner and an “Eras of Elvis” concert (move over, Taylor Swift.). On Saturday, there’s a quiz show, photo ops and an Elvis greatest hits concert. And on Sunday, the weekend wraps with a gospel performance. Various times, locations and ticket prices. A deluxe ticket package gets you into several events for $330. See here for the full schedule. — Phillips

It’ll be chilly again Friday night, but nothing a little whiskey can’t fix. At this annual fundraiser for Volunteer Odyssey, attendees can try samples of high-end whiskey, bourbon and scotch and snack on small bites from 901 Eats & Treats, The Genre and other local food vendors. There’s also a Crown Royal mixology contest pitting four local restaurants against one another; ticket holders will vote for their fave. DJ Zetta will spin the tunes, and cigar smokers can hang out and puff in a special cigar lounge. 6-9 p.m. $54 general admission in advance (includes 15 tastings) or $99 for VIP (includes early access at 5 p.m. and exclusive pours). GA tickets are $65 at the door. 61 Keel Ave. Click here for more information. — Phillips

‘5 Fridays of Jazz’ at the Benjamin L. Hooks Library, Friday:

At the beginning of the year, I declared jazz was “in” for 2025. It’s never really been out, but I vowed to enjoy it more this year, and you should, too! Every Friday night at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library is the perfect place to start. Memphis jazz singer Deborah Swiney is kicking off this year’s “5 Fridays of Jazz” series. A former backup vocalist for the legendary Al Green, Swiney has a voice that captures the essence of Sarah Vaughn or Ella Fitzgerald. Coming up this month are Candace Mache and the Swinging Machete Trio, Jazz Ensemble of Memphis, Joyce Cobb and the Rhodes Jazz Ensemble and more. If jazz makes you hungry, fear not! Jus Enuff is bringing food, and Kaye’s Pints and Scoops will have sweet treats available for purchase. 6:30-8 p.m. Free to attend. 3030 Poplar Ave. Click here for more information. — Bowen

Midwives & Mimosas: Women Who Deliver at Memphis Botanic Garden, Saturday:

Choices is hosting a special brunch to honor midwives and the families they care for. Your tickets get you mimosas and a brunch buffet, plus there’s live music and a speaker. The proceeds will go toward Choices’ Birth Center, which offers midwife services, personalized birth plans, prenatal care and postpartum support. 11 a.m.-1 p.m.$100. Inside Sara’s Place at 750 Cherry Road. Click here for tickets. — Phillips

MAR10 Day at Crosstown Concourse, Saturday:

When abbreviated, March 10 looks like Mario, as in the portly protagonist from Nintendo’s OG gaming series. But March 10 falls on a Monday, and that’s no fun. So, the annual, all-ages MAR10 celebration will be on Saturday with retro arcade games, a Mario Kart racing tournament, Wii stations, Mario-themed mini golf and much more. 1-3 p.m. Free. 1350 Concourse Ave. Click here for more information. — Phillips

The Inaugural ‘Monthly, Like, Really Creative Collage Party’ at Ugly Art Co., Wednesday:

Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned collage fest? Whether you want to create a fine art masterpiece, a zine or your March vision board, this new monthly gathering is the place to be. Future-Everything has crafted a curated playlist for the occasion, and there will be plenty of vintage magazines, old books, scissors and glue. 6-9 p.m. Free. 635 Madison Ave. Click here to RSVP. — Phillips
