Tigers Basketball Insider: Holes in Memphis’ 2025-26 frontcourt could be cause for concern

When Memphis landed Texas Rio Grande Valley transfer guard Hasan Abdul Hakim on Friday, it marked the program’s eighth NCAA transfer portal acquisition in less than a month.
Coach Penny Hardaway and his staff went into the offseason knowing they’d have to rebuild much of their roster, but they already had commitments from Overtime Elite guard Daniel Vieira-Tuck and Eastern Florida State College (junior college) transfer Felipe Patino.
Memphis also learned that reserve guard Dante Harris would likely return once he didn’t enter the transfer portal ahead of the April 22 deadline for players to do so in order to maintain their collegiate eligibility.
