Black holes are just dead stars. And they’re not actually holes. When massive stars collapse at the ends of their lives, these dense astronomical objects form. And they’re called black holes because gravity is so strong it prevents anything from escaping, even light. You can learn way more at this daily planetarium presentation, including what would happen if you fell inside a black hole. 2 p.m. $14.75 for adults or $12.75 for students and seniors. 3050 Central Ave. Click here for tickets. — Bianca Phillips

It’s screening for a “movie night” at the Sheet Cake art gallery. 6 p.m. 405 Monroe Ave. See here for more info. — Chris Herrington
