Welcome back to The To-Do List where Daily Memphian staffers suggest their favorite events and activities for the coming week.
This week, support kidpreneurs in Germantown, learn to homestead in Millington and get broken stuff fixed at the Central Library.
Children’s Entrepreneur Market at Bobby Lanier Farm Park, Thursday:
Kidpreneurs could get their big break at this traveling market concept. It stops in Germantown on Thursday, giving local kids a chance to set up a vendor booth, sell whatever they want (think food, crafts, art and services) and handle all of the money from sales themselves. The market has strict rules that prevent parents from interacting with customers, forcing the kids to do things for themselves. 4-7 p.m. 2660 Cross Country Drive, Germantown. ‘Incognito Art Auction’ exhibition closing party at the Memphis Botanic Garden, Friday:
Back for the 15th year, the Memphis Botanic Garden Incognito Art Auction and party — and related exhibition — features more than 100 unsigned works from local and regional artists. The twist is that purchasers will not know who created the works they buy (unless they’re super savvy) until after they buy them. Online bidding opens July 15 and ends with a closing night celebration 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. The closing party features live music from Kenneth Jackson and encouragement of attendees to wear costumes or masks. The works are on view in the Botanic Garden’s visitors’ center and hallway. 6-8 p.m. Free admission. 750 Cherry Road. Click here to learn more about the fundraiser. — Elle Perry

The mixed-media wall from her thesis, including faux fur, 3D filament, clear vinyl and found objects, is part of “Pink Lives.” Burkhead has described their practice as using performance, mixed media, collage and video “to converse with other young, alienated women and femmes who struggle to find their entire selves in a capitalistic landscape.” The exhibition will be on view from 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 1. Free admission. 635 Madison Ave. — Perry
