Welcome back to The To-Do List, where Daily Memphian staffers suggest their favorite events and activities for the coming week.

An earlier version of this story listed the incorrect day for the Germantown Holiday Parade. The correct day is Saturday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m.

This week, party like Craig and Day Day from “Friday After Next,” spin the Wheel of Fortune and drink natties (as in natural wines) while eating patties (as in burgers).

Ballet Memphis’ ‘The Nutcracker’ at the Orpheum Theatre, Friday-Sunday:

Ballet Memphis’ “The Nutcracker” runs from Friday-Saturday, Dec. 12-14. (Courtesy Ballet Memphis)

“The Nutcracker” features dancers from Ballet Memphis’ professional company, Ballet Memphis School, Youth Ballet Memphis and more than 70 children from the three-state region, alongside the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Ballet Memphis has been performing the classic for nearly four decades. Eight students will make their pointe debut during the shows, while another will dance in the Flower Corps, something normally set aside for company dancers. 7:30 p.m. on Friday; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday; 2 p.m. on Sunday. Ticket prices vary. 203 S. Main St. — Elle Perry

Natties x Patties at Ugly Art Co., Friday:

What pairs best with an ugly sweater party? Smashburgers and natural wine. Jinx! In their first-ever collaboration, Hard Times Deli, Rootstock Wine Merchants and Slowdown Dry Goods are taking over Ugly Art Co. to sling, well, natties and patties. Your ticket gets you wine and your burger(s). Do some holiday shopping at the Slowdown Dry Goods pop-up while DJ Nate P gets you groovin’. If you’re not feeling grapes, head to Bar Limina’s patio pop-up for a cheeky lil cocktail. It’s an Edge District extravaganza! 6-11 p.m. $85. 635 Madison Ave. Click here to buy tickets. — Kelsey Bowen

‘Friday After Next’ Christmas Party at Premiere Palace, Friday:

Ice Cube played Craig in “Friday” movies, and you can dress like him for a chance at a prize in the “Friday After Next” Christmas party. (Chris Pizzello/AP file)

You ain’t gotta lie to kick it. But you do have to show up dressed as your fave character from the “Friday” movies if you want to party like Craig and Day Day. This party is themed around the third film in the “Friday” stoner comedy franchise. That’s the 2002 one where Craig (Ice Cube) and his cousin Day Day (Mike Epps) have to get jobs to pay their rent after a robber dressed as Santa Claus steals their rent money. The best-dressed attendees can win cash prizes, which sounds way easier than Craig and Day Day’s security guard jobs. OK, well, this blurb is over. Bye, Felisha. 8 p.m. $9.04. 629 Monroe Ave. Get tickets here. — Bianca Phillips

Local sports organizations will be playing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Liberty Turf Field (outside the Sports & Events Center), and there’s a post-event social at Loflin Yard at 1:30 p.m. You can sign up to play a sport for the day here. Free. 2323 Southern Ave. — Phillips

Frosty Fest & Pop Local Finalist Showcase Day at Carriage Crossing, Saturday:

Carriage Crossing is giving people one last chance to check out Pop Local contenders on Saturday, Dec. 13. (Jim Weber/The Daily Memphian file)

Santa is coming to the mall, but he’s all booked up for free photos. Sorry, kids. You can still take carriage rides and hear live music from School of Rock Germantown. Plus, this is your chance to visit all of the finalists in Carriage Crossing’s Pop Local retail contest. Seven businesses are competing for six months of free rent at the outdoor mall, and Saturday is the last day to vote. 2-5 p.m. Free. 4674 Merchants Park Circle, Collierville. Memphis rockers — country rockers, roots rockers, Southern rockers, punk rockers, all of the above — Lucero have somehow been at it for more than a quarter century now and are such a successful road band that they don’t play that often in their hometown anymore. But at least a couple of annual events are always on the schedule, and one of them is this annual December multi-band bill where the band invites some friends to town. Lucero will headline, of course, with support from Florida folk/alt-rock artist Amigo the Devil and North Carolina country-punk artist River Shook (who used to record under the name Sarah Shook). Showtime is 7 p.m., $41 for general admission. See here for more. — Chris Herrington

Holiday parades, Saturday-Sunday:

The Ford Road Elementary School Tigers performed during the 2019 Memphis Holiday Parade on Beale Street. (Jim Weber/The Daily Memphian file)

Holiday parades started last week, but they’ll continue across the county this weekend. The Arlington Christmas Parade is Saturday, starting in front of Arlington High at 11 a.m. The Downtown Holiday Parade goes down Beale Street Saturday at 1 p.m., and for the first time in two years, it’s looking like it won’t have to be canceled for rain. (Fingers crossed.) The last regional parade of the weekend is in Germantown Saturday at 2 p.m., and of course, it involves horses. For more details on these parades and other holiday events, check out this guide. Phillips

‘Secrets in the Galleries: Slay Bells Ring’ at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens, Saturday-Sunday:

This holiday whodunit gives attendees the chance to solve a fictional murder mystery centered around a rich family. In the story, the Bettencourt family is putting on their televised holiday spectacular, when the patriarch goes missing. Can you solve the mystery? Your ticket includes two cocktails (with booze or without) and cheese and crackers. There will also be a cash bar, spiced tea and festive treats from Muddy’s Bake Shop. 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. $40 members/$60 nonmembers. 4339 Park Ave. More info here. — Phillips

Wheel of Fortune Live at Minglewood Hall, Sunday:

Would you like to buy a vowel? The Wheel of Fortune is coming to Minglewood Hall, and random audience members will be selected to, well, give it a spin and try to solve the puzzle. Don’t worry; the prizes have made the trip as well. Participants could walk away with a trip to Paris or Hawaii or up to $10,000 in cash. Doors at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $37. 1555 Madison Ave. Click here to buy tickets. — Bowen
