Super Saturday: New Year’s Eve at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, Saturday:

Let the kids get a headstart on the New Year’s countdown with this free family day. Kids (or adults; you do you) can make a fireworks collage using watercolor, black paper, scissors and glue, and they’ll learn about New Year’s traditions across various cultures. 10 a.m.-noon. Naughty or Nice: Poetry, Paint, & Trip at Rumba Room, Saturday:

Memphis Rumba Room will host a paint and sip night on Saturday, Dec. 27. (Patrick Lantrip/The Daily Memphian file)

This holiday-themed paint and sip night features comedy by Rob Love, spoken word and poetry by local artists. And the theme is “Ugly Sweater Night,” so you can get more use out of that silly Christmas sweater while you paint and sip. 6 p.m. $25.44. Tickets will not be sold at the door, so order in advance. 303 S. Main St. Get tickets here. — Phillips

White Trash Christmas Bash at Lafayette’s Music Room, Saturday:

Lafayette’s will host a 1990s country cover band on Saturday, Dec. 27. (The Daily Memphian file)

Celebrate the holidays like you keep your Christmas lights on the front porch all year long. Mustache The Band will be playing 1990s country hits all night. (And technically, that above-referenced Gretchen Wilson song is from 2004, but who’s counting?) So, dig out those cowboy boots for a slightly belated honky-tonk holiday. Mustaches will be provided. Doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m. $28.25. 2119 Madison Ave. More info here. — Phillips

Dan Alten at Flyway Brewing Co., Saturday:

If you spent Christmas engulfed in awkward conversations and family drama, you might need a laugh by Saturday. Nationally touring comic Dan Altern of Kentucky is stopping into Memphis to headline the last Flyway Comedy Club show of the year. Yet-to-be-announced comics will open the show. 8 p.m. $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Get tickets here. — Phillips

Echoes in the Room: Alex Chilton’s Birthday at Memphis Listening Lab, Sunday:

Memphis Listening Lab will celebrate Alex Chilton’s birthday on Sunday, Dec. 28. (Dave Steuber/AP file)

Memphis music legend Alex Chilton — of Big Star and Box Tops fame — died in 2010 of a heart attack. But he would have been 75 on Sunday, so Memphis Listening Lab is hosting a birthday listening session with classic Chilton tracks and hidden gems. 7-9 p.m. Free. 1350 Concourse Ave., Suite 269. More info here. — Phillips

New Year’s Eve, Wednesday:

Beale Street will host its annual New Year’s Eve party with fireworks, confetti and a ball drop. (Patrick Lantrip/The Daily Memphian file)

Good riddance, 2025. You’ve been real. Let go of the old and ring in the new on Wednesday at one of the city’s many New Year’s Eve bashes. There’s the annual Beale Street New Year’s Eve party with fireworks, confetti cannons and a ball drop, an Irish buffet at Maeve’s Tavern, a riverboat cruise party and a Mid-South Pride New Year’s Celebration at Minglewood — among many other parties. See details on these and more in our New Year’s guide. — Phillips
