Last year was a memorable one for the CBHS basketball team. The Brothers won the Division 2-AA state championship and didn’t lose a single game, just the third time in Shelby-Metro history that has been accomplished. But last year was last year and the Brothers are embarking on the new season with new faces in key places and the same high expectations. At Arlington, the excitement of a new season was dampened by the news of the death of a former football player. Devin Chandler, who played three seasons for the Tigers before moving, was one of three University of Virginia football players shot killed by a former teammate. And as always, we need your help in providing the area’s best high school sports coverage. With basketball season underway, coaches and statisticians are asked to send in their scores, highlights and top performers from each game.
