Another local school is in the market for a new football coach.

This week, ECS announced that it was parting ways with Trey Adams after four mostly successful seasons. The Eagles finished 4-6 in 2022 but went 13-1 and won the state title in 2019 and overall won nearly 70% of its games under Adams.

School officials said a search for his replacement will get underway soon.

Elsewhere, it’s time to consider candidates for Mr. and Miss Basketball and one of those is Jordan Allen, the junior point guard at Hillcrest who is defined by his dogged defensive determination.

And as always, we need your help in spotlighting our area’s best athletes. Coaches and stat-keepers can send in their scores, highlights and top performers after each game to jvarlas@dailymemphian.com or via Twitter @johnvarlas.
