The Memphis guard’s college career has at times been turbulent. He decided to stay for a fifth season anyway. Now, starting with Senior Day on Sunday, it’s winding down.

Former basketball star Omar Sneed, former football offensive lineman Wade Smith and four other former players were officially inducted into the University of Memphis M Club Hall of Fame.

Tim McCarver, who died Thursday at age 81, was a three-sport star at Christian Brothers, a World Series hero for the St. Louis Cardinals, and a Baseball Hall-of-Fame inductee as a broadcaster. 

During the Women and Business seminar hosted by The Daily Memphian, Thursday, Feb. 16, the three panelists agreed that good mentors are key to being successful, no matter the industry or field. 

Memphis musicians Mario Monterosso, Carla Thomas, Kallen Esperian, Larry Dodson, The Coasters and Pete Molinari, among others, have recorded a new song to raise money for children in Ukraine.

The mural appears on the wall of the Steve A. Castle House of Rhythm and Blues near Hein Park and was commissioned by the club’s owner, Steve A. Adams.
