Justin Davis’ track and field season is off to a flying start. Literally.

The Harding Academy senior entered this week as Tennessee’s leader in Division 2-A in both the long jump and triple jump — and by considerable margins. His leap of 23 feet, 2 inches in the former event is also a school record and came despite jumping into a stiff headwind.

Expect Davis to shine at Spring Fling, where he’ll look to put up points in multiple events.Colliervillle baseball also has its eyes on Murfreesboro, and the Dragons posted a big victory this week over rival Houston.

And as always, we need your help in spotlighting our area’s best. Coaches and stat-keepers can send in their scores, highlights and top performers from each game either by emailing  or via Twitter @johnvarlas. — John Varlas
