We didn’t have any Daily Memphian reporters in Kansas City, Missouri, to report on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. But we were in Missouri for the Memphis Tigers vs. Missouri Tigers when the two unbeaten football squads met in St. Louis’ Dome in America’s Center on Saturday night. Frank Bonner II, Tim Buckley and photographer Patrick Lantrip had stories, columns, news reports and photos from Missouri’s 34-27 victory. Back in Memphis, John Varlas had all the high school sports events covered, with the biggest event being Friday night’s football matchup between top-ranked Germantown and neighbor Collierville. Parth Upadhyaya had the Tigers men’s and women’s basketball schedule news and an update on the recruiting visit of Curtis Givens III. Drew Hill was at Saturday’s Redbirds game to see Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane throw out the first pitch, and he found out Bane was more nervous throwing out the first pitch than he was when he swam with sharks during the summer. Thanks for reading.
