The Week in Prep Sports

Throwing a football around the gym or doing reaction drills involving pool noodles might not seem like a recipe for volleyball success. But it’s working well for Northpoint. Kim Robinson’s squad has been one of the area’s best all season long thanks in large part to the coach’s often novel approach to team-building. It’s a formula the Trojans hope will lead them to state-tournament success after disappointing finishes in two of the last three seasons. Edward Kuykendoll and C.J. Marshall also have had plenty of success. And this week the coaches at Sheffield and Bolton were honored by being selected to lead the teams in this year’s AutoZone Liberty Bowl high school all-star game. And, as always, we need your help in spotlighting our top prep athletes. Coaches and stat-keepers can send in their scores, highlights and top performers from each game either by emailing jvarlas@dailymemphian.com or on X @johnvarlas.
