Food journalists vs food influencers? That’s one of the topics discussed as “Sound Bites” host Holly Whitfield introduces The Daily Memphian food writer Ellen Chamberlain, in Chamberlain’s first Memphis food podcast. This week’s episode is the first of a two-part conversation.

In part one, they focus on recent food news including the death of Interstate Bar-B-Q co-founder Barbara Neely, Alchemy closing and what people missed at The Archives Bar & Bistro Downtown before it shut down. They also talked about the car accident at Celtic Crossing and the opening of its new sister restaurant in Collierville, Maeve’s Tavern.

Chamberlain talked about stereotyping in restaurant service, offered her opinion on well-done steaks, and “bumps” of caviar. In part two of the discussion, they’ll get into Ellen’s path from Michigan to Memphis.

On this episode of The Daily Memphian’s Memphis Grizzlies podcast, Drew Hill and Chris Herrington start by reacting to the news that Jaren Jackson Jr. has committed to Memphis for five more seasons and what it means overall for the franchise. They also share why the Ty Jerome addition is one that could end up being great value for the Grizzlies.
