The Week in Prep Sports

A pair of familiar faces are back in the high school football Dandy Dozen.

Rivals CBHS and MUS, both off to 2-0 starts, check in at ninth and 10th respectively in this week’s rankings of the top TSSAA teams in the Daily Memphian coverage area. The Owls will look for a third straight win as they host Kirby.

The Brothers, meanwhile, have a tough test coming to Tom Nix Stadium. Former CBHS coach Kevin Locastro and Lausanne visit for the first meeting between the two programs.

Elsewhere in the rankings, Whitehaven climbed following an impressive victory against Houston. Collierville fell — but only slightly — after a narrow overtime loss to Oxford.

And as always, we need your help in recognizing the top prep performers from all fall sports. Coaches and stat-keepers can send in their scores, highlights and top performers from each game either by emailing jvarlas@dailymemphian.com or on X @johnvarlas.
