The Week in Prep Sports

This week’s rainy weather benefited the Lausanne soccer team by giving it an unscheduled home match. And the Lynx took full advantage.

A goal just before halftime provided an important spark as Lausanne defeated ECS, 6-2, in the semifinals of the Division 2-A West Region tournament. It was a result that left Lynx coach Rogerio Lima pleased; Eagles coach Jordan Thompson, meanwhile, was upbeat despite the heavy loss.

Elsewhere, with Spring Fling rapidly approaching, our track and field honor roll lets you know who’s looking strong.

And as always, we need your help in spotlighting our best local athletes. Coaches and stat-keepers can send in their scores, highlights and top performers from each game either by emailing jvarlas@dailymemphian.com or on X @johnvarlas.
