Charles Huff spoke, and The Daily Memphian’s Frank Bonner II listened.

After a half-hour sitdown interview, Bonner wrote about what the first-year Memphis Tigers football coach had to say about both revenue-sharing budget matters and NCAA eligibility issues.

Also in recent days, Drew Hill and Chris Herrington both addressed Ja Morant trade possibilities as the Memphis Grizzlies continue to prepare for the June 23-24 NBA Draft.

Last week, John Varlas and John Martin both wrote about what Tigers athletic director Ed Scott said about both basketball and football budget issues, along with conference membership chatter during a recent 92.9 FM radio interview.

And on Saturday night, Tim Buckley was at the Memphis Sports & Events Center, where fun was had by many in the stands — and on the field — as the expansion Memphis Hound Dogs of the Arena League played their first indoor football home game with former Lausanne quarterback Sky Forest coming off the bench to lead the franchise to a win over Iowa Woo.
