Welcome back to your Grizzlies Insider, where you can find the latest NBA news and analysis from Daily Memphian staffers Drew Hill, Chris Herrington and Geoff Calkins.
For now, Ja Morant has time.
Pretty soon, he won’t.
During breaks at a commercial shoot on Tuesday, the Grizzlies’ star point guard decided to take questions from followers on Twitter.
He used the opportunity to poke fun at opposing college fans, calling his games against UT-Martin “off days,” telling Southern Illinois fans he scored 40 points on their team and reminding Tennessee State fans they still haven’t defeated Murray State since he left the Racers.
In addition, Morant fielded all sorts of random questions and waved hello (via emoji) to fans in Spain, France, Ghana, Portugal and Canada.
How many Nike tracksuits does he own? More than 100.
What is his favorite tracksuit color? Lavender.
Who is the funniest teammate? Tyus Jones.
His favorite show besides “Martin”? “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
His favorite basketball uniform? The Vancouver Grizzlies throwbacks.
If he didn’t play basketball, which sport would he play? Baseball.
With the reigning Rookie of the Year, the Grizzlies appear to have hit a home run. Now can they do it again?
The 2020 NBA draft is in less than a week. Memphis does not own a pick until No. 40, but could the front office choose to shake things up?
Don’t count it out completely.
