Welcome back to the Tigers Football Insider, where we bring you the latest news and analysis from The Daily Memphian’s Steven Johnson each week.

Louisiana was a crucial state for Memphis during the 2021 class. Some of the Tigers’ highest-rated commitments, like Andrew Jones and Tyrell Raby, hailed from the boot.

Looking ahead to 2022, it’s apparent that Ryan Silverfield wants to make his presence felt in the state once again.

Memphis has blanketed the state with offers especially at receiver. According to 247Sports the Tigers have offered eight receivers from Louisiana, two running backs and much more on the defensive side of the ball.

Some of the top prospects are already committed or leaning toward other schools, but Memphis should land a few prospects of its own,

Here are some names to watch: Quarterback Zeon Chriss, RB Dylan Sampson, WR Leroy Paige and Keshlon Jackson. On the defensive front Memphis is trying to get in the mix for Quency Wiggins and J’mond Tapp, among many others.

As we get closer to spring and summer, the recruiting picture will become more clear as prospects begin to drop their list of finalists.

When it does, expect Memphis to be in the running for quite a few of Louisiana’s best.
