Steven Adams isn’t interested in the credit, nor the glamour.
The 7-foot Memphis Grizzlies big man has spent the season mashing opponents inside, passing to his teammates and occasionally completing the tip in following a miss.
He leads the entire league in offensive rebounds per game (4.6), yet he is 10th on the Grizzlies in points per game (7.1) despite being fifth on the team in minutes.
During one of the most successful Grizzlies seasons the franchise has ever had, his teammates have repeatedly credited the big man for doing Memphis’ “dirty work” while the others gather the most attention.
“Who said it ain’t glorious?” Adams joked Monday morning. “It’s the warrior code, mate.”
