Welcome back to your Grizzlies Insider, where we deliver the latest NBA news and analysis straight to your inbox twice a week.
Now the Grizzlies coaching staff and players get to watch like everyone else.
At some point on Tuesday, Taylor Jenkins, Ziaire Williams and the rest of the Memphis Grizzlies will do the exact same thing as their fans. They will huddle in front of a television and watch the NBA’s Western Conference play-in game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers. The winner gets the opportunity to head to head to Memphis for Game 1 of the first round on Saturday.
“We are going to watch (the play-in game) as a staff,” Jenkins said. “We’ve done a little bit of prep work already on Minnesota and the Clippers. They have changed since the last time we played them. Obviously, the Clippers have Paul George back.
Either matchup would feature interesting storylines, whether that be the playoff familiarity of the Grizzlies and Clippers or the ongoing banter between Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley.
