When his first All-Star experience was over, Jaren Jackson Jr. sat at his seat in the interview room and answered with honesty.
He was ready to leave Salt Lake City.
“You have no idea how quickly I’m about to get out of here,” Jackson said. “How do I decompress? I’m about to run out of here. I’m going to an undisclosed location called my car, which is going to take me to a plane. I’m going to an undisclosed location that I cannot reveal yet, where I will be meditating.”
It’s going to be short and sweet, because it has to be. And, really, it’s not that deep. This won’t be some phoneless journey into the dark wilderness, like Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he was doing for a vacation.
“No, I only get one day, so I can’t Aaron Rodgers this one,” Jackson joked. “I’m going to have to Trip-J it and go with something else.”
But just because Jackson was in a hurry to leave didn’t mean his time in Utah wasn’t fun.
