Interim CEO: MATA lied about missing bus routes for nearly a year
“I’m upset. I’m mad as h---,” said Memphis Area Transit Authority board member Cynthia Bailey, also a longtime leader of the Memphis Bus Riders Union advocacy group. “These customers out here waiting two to three hours on the durn bus, and they doing some violation. I’m mad as h--- up here.” (Patrick Lantrip/The Daily Memphian file)
In all, nearly one-third of MATA buses weren’t showing up where or when they were scheduled to.
