Welcome back to The To-Do List, where Daily Memphian staffers suggest their favorite events and activities for the coming week.
In this week’s To-Do List, an Elvis tribute artist pays tribute to Elton John, and Navy takes on Cincinnati in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
First Day Hike at T.O. Fuller State Park, Thursday:

If you’ve resolved to move more or get right with nature, here’s your chance to kick the year off on the right foot. Or, well, both feet cause you’ll be using them. This annual tradition takes park visitors on a four-mile trek through T.O. Fuller as a guide shares park history and facts on indigenous plants and animals. Elvis tribute artist Dwight Icenhower events at Graceland’s TCB Showroom, Thursday-Saturday:
Dwight Icenhower won the 2016 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest, and he’s back in town for three events on New Year’s weekend. On Thursday at 8 p.m., Icenhower will perform songs by his other favorite artist to impersonate: Elton John. On Friday, Icenhower will perform the music of Elvis in an Elvis Unstoppable concert at 8 p.m. And on Saturday, he’ll present Juke Box Time Machine — with classics from Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and others — at 8 p.m. 3600 Elvis Presley Blvd. See here for ticket info. — Phillips
Invasive species pull at Overton Park, Friday:

Want to do something good for Mother Nature this weekend? Join Overton Park’s invasive species volunteer group, led by Bill Bullock. You’ll be walking through the woods pulling up non-native plants that have no place in the park’s forest. 9-11 a.m. Free. More info here. — Phillips
AutoZone Liberty Bowl at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, Friday:

The Navy Midshipmen (10-2) and the Cincinnati Bearcats (7-5) will compete in the 2025 AutoZone Liberty Bowl, which will be aired on ESPN. Navy is looking for its first 11-win season since 2019. First Saturday Paddle on the Wolf River, Saturday:

With highs in the low 50s, you’ll want to dress warmly for this Wolf River Conservancy paddling session. River guides will lead you from Walnut Grove Road to Kennedy Park, a route that goes under four overpasses. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Free to Wolf River Conservancy members and $25 for nonmembers. New Year’s Sound Bath at The Broom Closet, Monday:
Enter the new year with resonance. Taj Chander will use crystal singing bowls, gongs and offer guided meditation cues, all of which are said to help reset the deep nervous system and contribute to inner alignment. Space is limited, so registration is required. Zero-gravity reclining chairs will be provided, and participants should bring their own blankets, eye masks or whatever you’ll want to feel comfy during the session. 6:30 p.m. $25.44. 552 S. Elvis’ Birthday Celebration at Graceland, begins Wednesday:

Elvis Presley’s 91st birthday is Jan. 8, and the party begins at Graceland on Wednesday with a few events exclusively for super fans in the Founders club. There’s also a sold-out conversation with Jerry Schilling in the Jungle Room. So, what can you do? Tickets are still available for Wednesday’s DJ Elvis Dance Party at the Graceland Soundstage at 7:30 p.m. The free, open-to-the-public birthday proclamation is set for Thursday, Jan. 8.
