The voters have spoken. And they have chosen Russell Randall as this week’s Daily Memphian spring-sports athlete of the week.
Randall, a pitcher at Bartlett, garnered 49% of this week’s vote following a strong start against White Station on April 2. He held the Spartans to three hits throughout seven innings while walking one and striking out nine in a 3-2 win.
Second place, at 20%, went to Millington’s Charles Brown who turned in the state’s fastest time so far this spring in the 400 meters at a meet in Mississippi.
Arlington softball player Brooklynn Knight was third followed by Houston pitcher Will Beasley, Harding long jumper Brynne Miller and Collierville sprinter Kylie Walden.
A new round of voting begins Monday.
