Watch What You Eat: ‘The Menu’ at the Pink Palace Museum, Thursday:

An ominous dinner takes the giant screen at the Pink Palace Museum in a showing of Mark Mylod’s 2022 film, “The Menu.” The movie stars Ralph Fiennes as a chef at an exclusive restaurant on a private island, where guests are in for a shocking surprise. Tickets to the event come with a complimentary beer, courtesy of Hampline Brewing Co., and a pre-show discussion to help attendees understand the world Mylod created for this black-horror comedy. Snacks from Whisks of Doom will also be available. Doors at 5:30 p.m., showtime at 7:10 p.m. $25.75. 3050 Central Ave. More info here. — Ellen Chamberlain

Peabody Rooftop Party kick-off at the Peabody Memphis, Thursday:

The Peabody Memphis’ rooftop parties start back on Thursday, April 16. (Ben Fant/The Daily Memphian file)

There are few places in town with better sunset views than the Peabody rooftop. And starting this Thursday, you can catch it weekly as the popular rooftop party series returns with a kick-off show by party band Almost Famous. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and VIP tickets come with light bites and a private bar. The series continues through Aug. 13. See the full lineup here. $15 general admission or $40 for VIP. 6-10 p.m. 149 Union Ave. — Bianca Phillips

Omnium Circus at the Buckman Arts Center, Thursday:

The Omnium Circus will be at the Buckman Arts Center on Thursday, April 16. (Courtesy Buckman)

This traveling, animal-free circus features human aerialists, contortionists, balance artists, unicyclists, acrobats, hula hoopers and so much more. As a vegan, this feels to me like a welcome change from the traditional circus, where elephants and other animals are forced — often after being trained through cruel practices — into doing unnatural tricks. 7 p.m. Free. 60 Perkins Extd. More info here. — Phillips

Africa In April Cultural Awareness Festival at Robert Church Park, Friday-Sunday:

Earth Wide Open Memphis Mineral, Fossil and Gem Show at the Agricenter International, Saturday-Sunday:

This annual show attracts three different kinds of people: geology nerds, jewelry makers and the woo-woo “crystals have magical powers” people. Count me among the latter. I’ve gone to this show many times and brought home all manner of shiny, “magic” rocks, including a very large — and affordable — chunk of rainbow aura quartz. You’ll also find crystal beads for jewelry-making and science-based exhibits for adults and kids. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. $6 for adults or $2 for kids 12 and under. (Cash only!) 7777 Walnut Grove Road. More info here. — Phillips

World Championship Hot Wing Contest & Festival at River Garden Park, Saturday:

The 24th annual battle of the birds kicks off Saturday morning with a parade led by the Memphis Second Line Brass Band. In addition to the thousands of party-sized and whole wings to try, there will be a dance contest and a Soul Train revue. Slowdown Cinema Club: ‘Twin Peaks’ screening at the Pink Palace Museum, Saturday-Sunday:

“Diane, 3 p.m., April 18. Entering town of Twin Peaks.” Just like Agent Dale Cooper, you’ll get the chance this weekend to enter the weird and wild world of David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks.” Slowdown Cinema Club will screen the entire first season over the course of two days. So, power up with a slice of cherry pie and some d--- fine coffee (just check the percolator for fish first) to prepare for a marathon of this 1990s cult classic about an FBI agent sent to investigate the murder of teen girl Laura Palmer. Episodes one through four will screen Saturday, and five through eight will screen Sunday. 3-9 p.m. both days. $25.75 for one day, or $40.75 for a weekend pass. 3050 Central Ave. More info here. — Phillips

It’s that time of year again: mudbug season. And the Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival is returning to Downtown Memphis. This spring event is free to attend and will feature live music, games, food from more than 25 local food trucks and, of course, Louisiana crawfish. There’ll be an area for kids in River Garden Park and a VIP tent experience with all-you-can-eat crawfish and Cajun cuisine. Try your luck at crawfish-eating, crawfish-bobbing and crawfish-racing contests that’ll happen throughout the day. Arrive early because the crawfish often sell out! 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Free, but you can buy VIP tickets here. Riverside Drive. — Nick Lingerfelt

Cooper-Young Porchfest in various locations in Cooper-Young, Sunday:

Cooper-Young Porchfest is Saturday, April 18. (Patrick Lantrip/The Daily Memphian file)

The original Saturday date for Porchfest was moved to Sunday, due to predicted storms. Memphis’ edition of Porchfest began in 2021 when it still wasn’t safe to gather indoors due to the pandemic. Like similar festivals in cities across the country, Cooper-Young Porchfest features soloists, bands and DJs playing for tips in front yards and in front of businesses. This year’s fest is set to feature 190 bands across 55 porches. Click here for a schedule and map. The neighborhood-wide garage sale that’s usually held with Porchfest (from 8 a.m. to noon) will mostly happen on Sunday, but some yard sales will take place on Saturday. Yard sale maps are outside the Cooper-Young Community Association office at 2298 Young AveClick here to read about last year’s Porchfest. — Elle Perry

Memphis FC Beers and Gear kickoff party at Crosstown Brewing, Wednesday:

Memphis 901 FC left a soccer ball-sized hole in Memphis’ heart when the team moved to Santa Barbara after the 2024 season. But soccer is back, baby!
