Modest Mouse at Satellite Music Hall, Monday:
Modest Mouse plays Satellite Music Hall on Monday. (Paul R. Giunta/Invision/AP file)
Modest Mouse’s first album is called “This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About,” and that kind of captured the restless, headlong tone of their music, discursive even by 1990s indie-rock standards. That was nearly a decade before Isaac Brock’s Pacific Northwest band scored a fluke hit with “Float On,” which turned “indie” into “modern” and small clubs into bigger ones. More than 20 years later, they’re still playing the bigger ones, and one they’ve never played before at the new Satellite Music Hall this week. 7 p.m. General admission $71.50. 1291 Autumn Ave. See here for more info. — Chris Herrington
