New Asia in Germantown has reopened its dining room and the two menus are back—though they’re QR codes now. Remember, red for the authentic Chinese menu and green for Chinese-American.

Sakura has also reopened, but sad news at Puck Food Hall, where most of the dining is gone. Sweet Magnolia Gelato, LuLu’s, Dr. Bean’s and Bar 409 remain open, as does the outdoor seating though its future is iffy.

For the latest installment in Bread & Butter, we talk to Deni & Patrick Reilly, who own The Majestic Grille, about how they’ve created a small restaurant to keep them going through COVID.

Chris Herrington is back on the street, this time in Olive Branch to check out tacos and paletas. He joins me on this week’s Sound Bites, where we talk mostly about cooking at home during COVID.

High Point Grocery has wine, so add that amenity to this sweet little local store.

ICYMI, the Grove at GPAC has been hosting Thursday night dinners with a movie, and it wraps up Oct. 15. Time to get there if you haven’t gone.

And Southall Café has been open more than a month. Have you been? –Jennifer Biggs
