The Week in Prep Sports

The postseason for spring sports in Tennessee has arrived. And that means the Tipton-Rosemark softball team is gearing up for another run.

The Rebels, who are the only team in the Shelby-Metro area to win more than one state championship, entered the playoffs with a 27-6 record. That success has been due in large part to a terrific offense, with several players batting over .400 and hitting multiple home runs.

Can TRA get back to Murfreesboro for the first time since 2018? It remains to be seen. But they’ll certainly be fun to watch.

As always, coaches, stat-keepers and parents are encouraged to send in their scores, highlights and top performers each night. Email jvarlas@dailymemphian.com or Tweet @johnvarlas. — John Varlas
