Believe it or not, we’re already five weeks deep into the high school football season. And Week 5 is shaping up to be a very interesting one.
The Daily Memphian will be on the scene Thursday at historic Melrose Stadium as two undefeated teams, Mitchell and MAHS, square off in a key Region 8-2A contest. That will precede a full slate of Friday games with many teams diving headlong into league play.
You can be the best-informed fan wherever you go by checking out The Daily Memphian. Each week, our football coverage features previews of the top games, the city’s most comprehensive statistical report and rankings of the top teams along with plenty of facts and figures you won’t find anywhere else.
And as always, if you’re at a football game (or any other sporting event for that matter), we want to hear from you. Please send in your scores, highlights and top performers to jvarlas@dailymemphian.com or via Twitter @johnvarlas. — John Varlas
