County Commissioner Van Turner discusses an upcoming vote on 3 ordinances related to law enforcement. “We want safe communities. But you don’t have to have a militarized law enforcement force in order to serve and protect the community,” he said.
And Pastor J. Lawrence Turner of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church says the first part of Mayor Jim Strickland’s effort to reform the Memphis Police Department didn’t go far enough.
