Applications open Sept. 14 for the second phase of the Artist Emergency Fund. Via the fund, artists and those employed in arts and culture can receive up to $1,000 to allay income loss due of event cancellations, work shortages, and layoffs or furloughs from nonprofit arts and culture organizations.

ArtsMemphis received $200,000 in local CARES Act funding to support the second phase of grants.

ArtsMemphis and Music Export Memphis launched the fund in April; they distributed $307,000 to 443 individuals in the first phase.

Applicants must live in the city of Memphis. Self-employed artists are eligible. Artists/art workers who received funding in the first phase are eligible for the second phase, but must submit a new application.
