The Collierville Chamber of Commerce board of directors announced Monday the appointment of the chamber’s new president and CEO, Mark Heuberger.

Heuberger, who has been the public information officer for the Town of Collierville since 2006, will replace Kanette Keough-Rodgers. He will begin his position April 29.

"Mark brings to the position a broad scope of experience and specific skills that we feel will be very beneficial to the chamber moving forward,” Tamara Swain, chairman of the chamber board and member of the search committee, said in a release. "We were most impressed with Mark's commitment to strategic planning, his accomplished background in communications and branding and his understanding of the importance of relationship-building within and beyond Collierville."

Heuberger is a University of Memphis graduate with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master's degree in communication. His past roles include working for Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division for 26 years as director of corporate communications, where he was responsible for “all internal and external communication programs, media relations, community relations, and digital media.”

"Mark's presentation to the search committee was outstanding,” Greg Cotton, chamber board member and member of the search committee, said in a release. “He is an innovative thinker and he has a clear vision for how to grow the Chamber's role as a resource to the local business community."

On his new role as president and CEO, Heuberger said in a release he is “deeply honored” to be afforded the opportunity, and is looking forward to working with the board and chamber staff to grow the chamber's role as a business resource.

"We have a great foundation to build on and I believe our best days are yet ahead,” Heuberger said.
