The Week in Prep Sports

Friday will tell us a lot about the Collierville High football team.

The Dragons, who are off to a 5-0 start, climbed into the fifth spot in this week’s Daily Memphian Power 15. That start can be attributed to the fine play of quarterback Houston Wilhelm, running back Troy Martin and the area’s second-ranked defense.

The schedule, though, hasn’t been the most challenging which is what makes a visit from Whitehaven so interesting. The Tigers (3-2) are coming off a solid victory over Houston and historically have had Collierville’s number.

That is just one of several big games on the Friday schedule. Other fall sports are still going strong too and as always coaches, fans and stat-keepers are encouraged to send in their scores, highlights and top performers after each game.
