Buster Kelso will be back in the dugout in 2022.
Kelso, who was relieved of his coaching duties at CBHS in August, will serve as a volunteer at Lausanne this spring. His official title will be co-coach alongside Chris Mitchell, who played for Kelso as a high schooler.
With 1,106 victories, Kelso is the winningest coach in Tennessee prep history. He spent 36 years at CBHS, winning nine state titles. Kelso will continue to teach in CBHS’ business department.
Elsewhere, there will be two showcase events for basketball this weekend. The girls game will be on display at Bartlett Friday and Saturday as the Panthers host the I Have a Dream Elite Showcase, featuring several of the area’s top teams.
On Saturday, Arlington plays host to the Memphis Hoopfest. That one is scheduled to feature a match-up between East and Bartlett, two of the top boys teams in the state, as well as game between MUS and Vertical Prep out of Charlotte, the team led by internet sensation Mikey Williams.
