Four of the six suburban towns and cities in Shelby County either have property tax hike proposals pending or have already approved property tax hikes as their budget seasons approach the July 1 start of the new fiscal year. By the fall, the administration of Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland hopes to have a map of where broadband access and coverage is the best and the worst and from there develop the city’s first broadband strategic plan. Interim Housing and Community Development Director Mairi Albertson was on The Daily Memphian Politics Podcast to talk about the citywide plan.
