Coronavirus: New cases under 100 again, no new deaths

After two days of more than 100 new cases, the number of new coronavirus cases in Shelby County is under 100 again.
The Shelby County Health Department reported 94 new cases and no new coronavirus-related deaths on Monday, March 22.
The 94 cases come from 1,719 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 5.5%.
There were 137 COVID-positive patients in area hospital beds as of 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the Tennessee Healthcare Resource Tracking System.
According to the HRTS, 89% of area ICU and 87% of area acute care beds were in use.
About 12% of patients in area ICU beds were COVID-positive (37) or suspected of having the coronavirus (3). About 6% of patients in area acute care beds were either COVID-positive (100) or suspected of having the coronavirus (23).
And 40 area ICU and 310 area acute care beds were available.
Bed capacity is calculated by subtracting beds occupied by patients, unstaffed beds and beds that are otherwise unavailable.
The capacity figures are inclusive of all hospital facilities in Shelby, Tipton and Lauderdale counties in Tennessee as well as facilities in Crittenden County, Arkansas, and DeSoto County, Mississippi.
