Coronavirus: Health Department reports 10 new deaths

The Shelby County Health Department reported 10 new coronavirus-related deaths on Thursday. Since mid-March the number of deaths reported per day has been below five.

The health department reported 118 cases; those cases come from 3,245 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 3.6%.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 90,615 cases, including 88,008 inactive cases (recoveries), 1,049 active cases and 1,558 deaths.

According to the latest Shelby County Health Department data, 185,864 people in Shelby County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose; 84,049 people have received two COVID-19 vaccine doses.

And 269,913 total doses have been administered in Shelby County.

The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.

As of Wednesday, March 24, Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total is 804,492 cases, including 11,792 deaths, 830 current hospitalizations and 779,152 inactive cases (recoveries).

About 7,124,858 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
