Coronavirus: Two new deaths reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported two new deaths related to coronavirus as well as fewer than 100 new coronavirus cases Wednesday, March 31.

The agency reported 90 new cases. The 90 new cases come from 1,420 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 6.4%.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 91,220 cases, including 88,581 inactive cases, 1,070 active cases and 1,569 deaths.

Updated area hospital capacity figures were unavailable.

The Tennessee Department of Health reports statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.

As of March 30, the agency reported 810,529 total coronavirus cases, including 11,894 deaths, 816 current hospitalizations and 785,678 recoveries.

About 7.2 million coronavirus tests have been administered in Tennessee.
