Coronavirus: Another day of new cases under 100

The Shelby County Health Department reported fewer than 100 new coronavirus cases on Monday, April 5, and no new coronavirus-related deaths.

The 76 new cases come from 1,180 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 6.4%.

Shelby County’s updated coronavirus total is now 91,792 cases including 1,203 active cases, 89,015 inactive cases, and 1,574 deaths. 


New P.1 case tied to travel; authorities hunting source in another


According to the Health Department, 241,106 people in Shelby County have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus. More than 115,000 people have been partially vaccinated; 126,094 have been fully vaccinated.

Updated area hospital capacity figures were unavailable on Monday and updated statewide coronavirus figures were unavailable from the Tennessee Department of Health, as well.
