Coronavirus: Ten new deaths reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported 10 new coronavirus-related deaths and nearly 200 new coronavirus cases on Friday, April 23.

The 197 cases come from 3,170 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 6.2%.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 94,416 cases, including 91,092 inactive cases, 1,714 active cases and 1,610 deaths.

The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

As of Thursday, Tennessee’s coronavirus total is 839,841 cases, including 12,130 deaths, 866 current hospitalizations and 813,791 inactive cases.

About 7.5 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
