Coronavirus: Nearly 115 new cases reported

The Shelby County Health Department reported fewer than 115 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, August 28; it also reported four new coronavirus-related deaths.
The 113 new cases come from 1,666 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 6.8%.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is 95,087 cases, including 91,908 inactive cases, 1,562 active cases and 1,617 deaths.
The state Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Tuesday, Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total was 844,246 cases, including 12,163 deaths, 777 current hospitalizations and 819,211 inactive cases.
About 7.6 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
