Monogram Foods buys pork production company in Iowa
Memphis-based Monogram Foods has acquired Quality Food Processors in Denison, Iowa, effectively increasing its annual revenue above $1 billion, the company announced Tuesday, June 1.
Quality Food Processors had been a former supplier for Monogram, a private food manufacturing company that makes King Cotton and Circle B Brand meats, among other food products.
Financial terms of the purchase were not released.
“This is an important day for our company and one that ensures we continue to grow in the prepared meats space, especially in the bacon category,” Karl Schledwitz, Monogram’s executive chairman and CEO, said in a release. “This integration allows for Monogram’s continued focus on being the ‘Growth Partner That Makes It Better.’”
Monogram now operates 10 food manufacturing facilities in six states and employs more than 3,000.
Quality Food Processors, which touts itself as “America’s largest producer of pork,” recently announced a $1 million investment in increased wages, bonuses and incentives for its workforce effective March 1.
Monogram Foods manufactures a full range of meat snacks, appetizers, assembled sandwiches, fully cooked and raw bacon, corn dogs, bakery, and other convenience products.
