According to the indictment, the defendants conspired to intentionally “withhold and omit material information and knowingly make false and misleading statements” to cover up the use of force taken out on Nichols.
Of the five officers charged in Nichols’ death, three so far have filed motions to separate their cases.

An autopsy report released Thursday, May 4, by the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center indicates Tyre Nichols died from blunt force injuries to the head.
The autopsy report has not yet been released to the public, but Nichols’ family was briefed on the results Wednesday by Shelby County District Attorney General Steve Mulroy.
