Coronavirus: More than 150 new cases reported

After three days of fewer than 100 new daily coronavirus cases, the Shelby County Health Department reported more than 150 new cases on Thursday, April 8.

The agency reported 152 cases and no new related deaths.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 92,058 cases, including 89,352 inactive cases, 1,131 active cases and 1,575 deaths.

The day’s positivity rate was unavailable. 

Updated hospital capacity figures were also unavailable.

The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.

As of Wednesday, the agency reported 819,505 coronavirus cases, including 11,976 deaths, 849 current hospitalizations and 794,716 recoveries.

About 7.3 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
